Georgia Southern edges Chattanooga 28-27

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -- Josh Rowe hurried Terrell Robinson's pass on a failed two-point conversion attempt with 1:44 left, allowing Georgia Southern to hold on for a 28-27 win over Chattanooga on Saturday.

Jaybo Shaw put the Eagles (5-0, 4-0 Southern Conference) ahead 28-21 on a 1-yard run with 6:49 remaining, before the Mocs (2-4, 0-3) took five minutes off the clock during their final drive.

The 73-yard, 11-play drive was finished on Robinson's 5-yard TD run with 1:44 to play, bringing Chattanooga within an extra point of a tie. The Mocs, however, elected to go for the win and Robinson's pass was disrupted.

Robinson had 114 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries and threw for 67 more on 5-for-9 passing.

Shaw ran for two touchdowns and threw for another. The Eagles quarterback was 4 of 10 for 57 yards and had 67 more on 18 carries.
