Oregon authorities say they’ve found an unidentified body in a vehicle owned by a man missing from Washington state.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday the body was found inside a black Jeep Patriot owned by David Jones Pedersen. Authorities have been searching for Pedersen since his wife, Leslie Pedersen, was found slain in their Everett, Wash., home on Sept. 28.

Authorities have said they believe the Jeep was driven to Oregon and abandoned by David Jones Pedersen’s son, David Joseph Pedersen, and his girlfriend Holly Grigsby.

They have not been charged in relation to the body, but remain in custody in California on other charges. They are suspects in the deaths of Leslie Pedersen and 19-year-old Cody Myers.

Authorities hope to identify the body in an autopsy Monday.
