If you’re not feeling Halloweenish yet, you will after a free workshop featuring bats, owls and other denizens of the darkness.

“Creatures of the Night,” for ages 5 and older, will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Water Resources Education Center, 4600 S.E. Columbia Way, east of Vancouver’s Marine Park, along the Columbia River.

The workshop is meant to be fun and educational, with activities, lessons and a short excursion, which is accessible for the disabled, to look for bats.

The workshop, sponsored by Columbia Springs and Clark County Environmental Services, is free and open to the public. Organizers request participants sign up online in advance so adequate workshop materials can be prepared.
