COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Steve Spurrier isn’t satisfied with No. 15 South Carolina’s best offensive showing this season. He wants to see more.

Spurrier was pleased that the 15th-ranked Gamecocks’ attack finally got going in a 54-3 victory over Kentucky on Saturday. But the coach said the offensive line struggled to keep defenders off young quarterback Connor Shaw and credited South Carolina’s defense with helping the score get out of hand.

The Gamecocks forced nine punts and got six turnovers against the Wildcats.

Still, Spurrier said Shaw and the offense had something to build on. Shaw passed for 311 yards and four touchdowns. Receiver Alshon Jeffery had two touchdown catches against the Wildcats after managing that many in the first five games. Marcus Lattimore had his fifth 100-yard performance this season.
