FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — TCU trustees are scheduled to meet Monday, when they will discuss the school’s invitation to join the Big 12 Conference.
A person with knowledge of the plans tells The Associated Press that the board’s meeting is expected be followed by a “major announcement.” The person spoke on condition of anonymity late Sunday night because the university was not prepared to publicly reveals its plans.
The Big 12 Conference publicly issued an invitation to TCU for membership in its league Thursday.
TCU, currently in the Mountain West Conference, was scheduled to join the Big East next year.
Monday’s session will be the first time trustees will gather as a group since the Big 12’s invitation.
