Whidbey Island couple stabbed, son arrested

FREELAND, Wash. (AP) -- A 38-year-old man is accused of stabbing his parents at their home at Freeland on Whidbey Island.
The Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/pSKd66 ) Island County deputies responded to a 911 call Sunday night and found the 73-year-old man and 66-year-old woman with stab wounds to the upper body.
Deputies arrested the son at the home for investigation of domestic violence assault.
The father was reported in good condition at Whidbey General Hospital. The mother was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. She's reported in serious condition.
