‘Professor’ columnist easily refuted
I actually have a Ph.D. and could teach Politics 101 without the apparent agenda and bias of “Professor L. Anthony Brancaccio’s” Sept. 17 Press Talk column, “A class in political will vs. cover.” Had he read the textbooks and media he cited (even The Columbian), he would have discovered therein endless analysis of what drives politicians. And why pass off the current governmental stalemate simply as politicians waiting for cover, when it’s obvious that it’s a calculated political agenda to take back the White House and control Congress, as openly announced by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., but pointedly ignored by Prof. Brancaccio?
And why fail to cite numerous examples of political will under similar strong opposition … as examples, the abolition of slavery, Social Security, civil rights legislation, and Affordable Health Care Act? And why use so many inaccurate column inches against government workers? Prof. Brancaccio should have known that government workers and teachers take home fewer benefits and lower pay than similarly educated workers in the private sector. Prof. Brancaccio’s source was probably the Cato Institute, of renown political bias.
Now class, does anyone have ideas on why Prof. Brancaccio’s lectures are so biased and selective? One at a time … one at a time. Please.
