LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tony Hawk, Pierre-Luc Gagnon and Mitchie Brusco are among the top pro vert skateboarders scheduled to compete in the Sonic Generations of Skate on Oct. 22 at the Venice Beach Boardwalk.

The team competition will pay homage to three generations of vert skaters with Southern California connections. Each team will consist of one 40-something skater (first generation), one 30-something skater (second generation) and one teen/20-something skater (third generation).

The teams have yet to be determined. The first-generation skaters include Hawk, Steve Caballero, Kevin Staab and Sergie Ventura; the second-generation skaters are Gagnon, Andy Macdonald, Sandro Dias and Lincoln Ueda; and the third generation includes Brusco, Adam Taylor, Elliot Sloan and Pedro Barros.

Each pro will battle for team points against skaters from his own generation.
