Letter: Herrera Beutler must keep working

The Columbian
Published: October 10, 2011, 5:00pm

This newspaper reported that 1,700 people lined up at the recent jobs fair hosted by U.S. Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler. The huge number of people looking for work is sobering, but the fact that an elected official is taking action is definitely encouraging.

Herrera Beutler must continue to host these events. Even more important, she must continue to press to decrease the crushing regulatory burden of the federal government on many industries that once offered jobs here — timber, pulp mills, mining, dairies, fishing, aluminum, and many more.
