A tip from Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of a man who escaped from a Washington County corrections facility in April and eluded Oregon and Vancouver-area police officers in July.

Jontae Mixon, 25, was arrested on Monday without incident at the Montavilla Community Center in Portland after police received a tip from Crime Stoppers, an Oregon State Police bulletin said.

According to the release, Mixon was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on an outstanding felony warrant out of Washington County for second-degree escape and dangerous drugs. He was also booked on one count of felony attempt to elude in a vehicle, OSP said.

Mixon allegedly eluded an OSP trooper from Oregon into Washington state in July. He allegedly drove recklessly and was involved in a hit-and-run crash before police lost sight of his car, the release said.

Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in unsolved felonies. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
