Mason leads Alabama A&M to 5th straight win

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Reshaad DeJarnett caught a screen pass from Deaunte Mason and raced 70 yards for a touchdown with 4:15 left to help Alabama A&M win its fifth straight game, 27-24 over Texas Southern on Thursday night.

Mason also threw a 43-yard scoring pass to Terrance Pride in the third quarter, and finished 8 of 24 for 289 yards for the Bulldogs (5-2, 4-1 SWAC). Kaderius Lacey ran for 95 yards on 24 carries.

Martin Gilbert ran for 188 yards on 25 carries for Texas Southern (2-4, 1-4). He scored on an 84-yard run in the first quarter, and gave the Tigers a 21-17 lead with an 18-yarder with 4:44 left.

Riko Smalls was 15 of 35 for 265 yards for Texas Southern.
