Prep football: Camas 59, Heritage 6
Friday, October 14, 2011
The Papermakers rode impressive special teams play to a dominating win at McKenzie Stadium.
Camas blocked one punt for a touchdown, and used long punt returns from Zack Eagle to set up a couple of more scores en route to a 52-6 halftime lead.
Kicker Roland Alcobendas was busy putting kickoffs through the end zone to make Heritage start drives from its own 20.
During a four-play drive to open the game, Zack Marshall carried the ball 85 yards on three runs and one reception. He scored on first-quarter runs of 16 yards and 17 yards, helping set the tone. Marshall finished with 105 yards, all in the first half.
The second half was played with a running clock.
Heritage pulled within 10-6 with 4:48 left in the first quarter on a 18-yard run on a quarterback draw by Joseph Cooper.
But Camas went 69 yards in 10 plays with Marshall rushing for 55 yards and backup quarterback Reilly Hennessey completing a pair of passes.
The Papermakers made sure the second half would move quickly by scoring four touchdowns in the final eight minutes of the first half.
