Cromartie: Marshall should focus on a W not a KO

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie says Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall should be more focused on winning a game than getting into a fight with him or one of his teammates.

Marshall on Thursday said he is serious about showing more passion, and his goal for the game Monday night “is to get thrown out midway through the second quarter.” He added that he might fight Cromartie or Jets linebacker Bart Scott.

Cromartie, who has been friends with Marshall since high school, calls the receiver “a front-runner” and says he was just giving the media something to write “because there’s no talk going on down there because they’re 0-4.”

An amused Jets coach Rex Ryan says if Marshall wants to get kicked out early, “I think he should.”
