Blown transformer dims lights at Georgia-Vandy

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A blown transformer at Vanderbilt Stadium has knocked out four banks of lights during the Commodores’ game with Georgia.

The transformer blew with 2:53 left in the first half Saturday night, taking out two sets of lights near midfield behind the Vanderbilt bench with two others out on the other side of the field. The game continued, and Georgia took a 20-7 lead into halftime.

The outage left a section of seating in the shadows with the lights dim out to the right hash mark on Georgia’s side of the field from the 30 yard line on into one end zone.
