Butler beats Valparaiso 42-14

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Huck and Zach Watkins hooked up on three touchdown passes to lead Butler to a 42-14 victory over Valparaiso Saturday.

With the score 7-7 in the second quarter, Huck found Watkins for a 13-yard score to put the Bulldogs (4-5, 2-2 Pioneer League) ahead 14-7. The duo combined for TDs of 4 and 22 yards in the third quarter to break the game open. Huck finished with four touchdown passes.

Sean Grady intercepted a Valparaiso pass and returned it 90 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter to make it 35-7.

Huck was 14 of 26 for 189 yards and the four touchdowns. Backup Tom Judge also tossed a touchdown pass for Butler. Watkins had seven catches for 98 yards.

Eric Hoffman was 33 of 47 for 313 yards and a touchdown for the Crusaders (0-6, 0-4), but was intercepted three times.
