Indiana State big plays top Western Illinois 46-24

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Shakir Bell ran for 213 yards and three touchdowns to lead Indiana State to a 46-24 victory over Western Illinois on Saturday.

Ronnie Fouch completed only six passes in 21 attempts — but four went for touchdowns for the Sycamores (5-2, 3-1 Missouri Valley). All were at least 32 yards, with the longest an 80-yarder to Alex Jones.

Bell’s touchdown runs of 51 and 47 yards in the fourth quarter put the game out of reach for the Sycamores after Western Illinois had pulled within 33-24. Bell, who carried 21 times, also scored from 6 yards in the first quarter.

Josh Hudson was 23 of 35 for 269 yards and two touchdowns, both to Aaron Muhammad for the Leathernecks (2-4, 1-2). Terriun Crump caught eight passes for 111 yards, his fifth 100-yard game this season.
