Montana State upends Northern Arizona 41-24

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — DeNarius McGhee threw three touchdown passes and Cody Kirk ran for 142 yards and a touchdown as Montana State compiled 524 total yards in a 41-24 Big Sky Conference victory over Northern Arizona on Saturday afternoon.

McGhee tossed scoring passes of 11 and 15 yards to Elvis Akpla, and another for 46 to Tanner Bleskin as the first-place Bobcats (6-1 overall, 4-0 Big Sky) raced to a 34-10 lead and withstood two late scoring plays by the Lumberjacks (2-4, 1-3).

The Bobcats responded with an 8-yard touchdown run by Everett Gilbert with 6:19 to play for a 41-24 lead.

McGhee was 18 for 22 passing with 247 yards and one interception. NAU quarterback Cary Grossart was 10 for 20 passing for 249 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
