Northwestern State dominates SE Louisiana 51-17

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Brad Henderson threw for two touchdowns and D.J. Palmer added one on the ground as Northwestern State dominated Southeastern Louisiana 51-17 on Saturday night.

Palmer broke off an 82-yard touchdown run to give Northwestern State (3-3, 2-1 Southland Conference) a 17-0 lead with less than five minutes gone in the first quarter. Palmer finished with 102 yards on 15 carries.

Northwestern State continued their first-quarter scoring surge, as Henderson completed a 28-yard pass to Rumeall Morris for a 24-3 lead.

Henderson, who finished with 149 yards on 12-of-23 passing, connected with Justin Aldredge from 37 yards out for his second touchdown of the day midway through the third quarter, giving Northwestern State a 41-3 lead.

Brian Young led Southeastern Louisiana (1-4, 0-2), tallying 355 passing yards and two touchdowns but threw four interceptions.

The Lions have lost nine straight conference games dating back to last season.
