LONDON (AP) — World champions Mo Farah and Dai Greene are among the dozens of British track and field athletes who will receive lottery funding before next year’s London Olympics.

Farah won the gold medal in the 5,000 meters at the world championships in Daegu, South Korea. Greene won the men’s 400-meter hurdles.

Other athletes to benefit from “podium level” funding of about $87,000 include silver medalists Phillips Idowu (triple jump), Jessica Ennis (heptathlon) and Hannah England (1,500 meters).

After their top-eight finishes in Daegu, U.S.-born hurdler Tiffany Porter and Cuban-born triple jumper Yamile Aldama will also receive full financial support.

Britain won two golds, four silvers and one bronze medal in Daegu.

UK coach Charles Van Commenee says his target for London is eight medals, including one gold.
