COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Mathieu Corbeil to Saint John of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

General manager Scott Howson announced the move on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old Corbeil was added to the roster on emergency recall on Tuesday and dressed for the Blue Jackets’ game against Dallas, but did not play.

An unsigned draft pick (fourth round, 2010), Corbeil had to be returned to his juniors club within 24 hours after he was called in to back up starter Steve Mason.

Corbeil is 7-2-0 with a 2.61 goals-against average and .899 save percentage in nine games with Saint John this season.
