Supply of houses for sale up slightly in September
Tuesday, October 18, 2011
It would take 6.8 months to sell all 2,995 Clark County houses on the market in September, according to Portland-based listing service RMLS. That marks a notable year-over-year improvement in the pace of sales as a share of listings, though a very slight slowdown from August, when inventory was at 6.5 months.
In September 2010, there was a 10.4-month supply of houses, according to RMLS calculations.
RMLS said 441 sales closed in September, up from 359 a year earlier, and the median sales price dropped to $188,000, down from $209,000 in September 2010. The median, at which half of homes sold for more and half for less, was $185,000 in August.
