CHEHALIS, Wash. (AP) — An inquest jury continues deliberations Wednesday in Chehalis to answer questions about the 1998 shooting death of former Washington State Patrol Trooper Ronda Reynolds at her home in Toledo.
The Lewis County coroner originally ruled the death a suicide. But Reynolds’ mother, Barb Thompson, went to court to clear her daughter’s name, and a jury found Reynolds did not kill herself. Thompson wants an inquest decision that her daughter’s death was a homicide.
New Coroner Warren McLeod agreed to the inquest that began last week. The case went to the jury Tuesday.
KOMO-TV reports that if the jury concludes Reynolds was killed it will be asked to name a suspect.
