Northwest Cancer Specialists announced Tuesday that it has changed its name to Compass Oncology.

Compass Oncology is the largest independent cancer and hematology treatment practice in the region with seven offices in the Portland-Vancouver area.

“Our practice centers on patient care, and our physicians and staff are known for their commitment, collaboration and compassion to the treatment of those with significant illnesses,” said Dr. Gregory Patton, practice president for Compass Oncology. “The name ‘Compass Oncology’ speaks directly to the fact that when our patients are referred to us, they are often overwhelmed, not just by the news that they have cancer, but also by the many decisions and potential directions that are before them. Like a compass, we provide our patients with a clear path and direction to hope and healing.”

Compass Oncology remains an affiliate of the US Oncology Network, one of the nation’s largest networks of community-based oncologists.

Compass Oncology has offices in east, west and northeast Portland, Tualatin, Vancouver and Salmon Creek.
