Briggs says players, management on different pages

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — Chicago Bears Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs says a gap between players and management is affecting team morale.

Briggs tells Comcast SportsNet Chicago “there’s a big transition going on right now in Chicago” and that “players and the management are not seeing eye-to-eye on a lot of different issues and a lot of different players’ situations.” He made the comments Tuesday for a show that airs Thursday night.

Briggs pushed hard for a new contract before the season. Running back Matt Forte wants a new deal, and safety Chris Harris requested a trade before Tuesday’s deadline after being held out of last week’s game against Minnesota. Briggs says the issues take “away from wanting to go out on the field and just play.”
