Oregon State Police will take online applications
Wednesday, October 19, 2011
Starting Oct. 25, Oregon State Police will be accepting applications exclusively through an online application system for people interested in becoming an OSP trooper.
People interested in applying to be a trooper should visit http://www.oregon.gov/osp or the recruiting website at http://www.osptrooper.com to create an account and build a profile, according to a state police release.
Applications will start being received at 8 a.m. Oct. 25.
OSP Superintendent Chris Brown hopes the application will result in a large turnout and encourages anyone interested in a career as an OSP trooper to apply.
“The Oregon State Police has not accepted applications for recruit trooper positions since March 2010. We expect high interest, but we will have to limit the number of applicants to the first 800 received so we have a manageable application pool for anticipated hiring,” Brown said in a release.
Applications will be received through an electronic application system that all branches of Oregon state government switched to about a year ago.
