Letter: Jobs Act will produce opportunities

In the Oct. 19 story, “30 find work through job fair,” Republican U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler states, “I’ll continue to do everything I can to get folks in this region back to work.” Translation: I’ll continue to do everything I can to get folks in this region back to work as long as it doesn’t involve a jobs proposal by Democrats or President Obama. If Herrera Beutler really means what she says, she will not only vote for Obama’s Americans Jobs Act, but will also stop voting for legislation that is cutting (government) jobs. The president’s proposal will put more Clark County residents back to work than the 30 jobs filled from the last job fair.
