Letter: Thanks to Congresswoman

The Columbian
Published: October 25, 2011, 12:00am

My thanks to Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, first and foremost, for serving the people of the 3rd Congressional District by not being a rubber-stamp politician. Her independent thinking allows her to listen to the needs and concerns of her constituents.

Thanks for her efforts to limit EPA regulations that harm small businesses and endanger jobs in Southwest Washington, while still focusing on protecting the environment. Thanks to her for protecting Social Security and attempting to preserve Medicaid and Medicare. Thanks to her for voting to limit “out of control” government spending. Thanks to her for not raising taxes on the working middle class. Thanks to her for envisioning an America that our children and grandchildren can appreciate.

Thank you, Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, for being a leader worth following. I appreciate her.
