SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon Justice Department says 15 people have been arrested in a two-week, multi-agency child pornography investigation across the state.

Attorney General John Kroger said Friday that every child pornography image is evidence of the sexual abuse of a child. He adds that people who possess and trade child pornography encourage that abuse by creating a market for it.

The effort was coordinated by the state Justice Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force to combat online child exploitation.

The attorney general’s office says that in addition to the arrests, 30 search warrants were served and 87 computers and 99 external hard drives were seized.
