Company recalls prawns for undeclared sulfites

BAY CITY, Ore. (AP) -- Pacific Oyster Company is voluntarily recalling 194 cases of Nate's Spiced Prawns because of allergy concerns.

The product packaging doesn't alert consumers that the seafood contains sulfites. People with allergies to sulfites face serious or life-threatening allergic reactions. The prawns were distributed from the company's processing facility in Bay City, Ore., to retailers in Oregon and Washington.

The product was sold in 16-ounce jars. Consumers can return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
