Indiana WR Belcher suspended for Northwestern game

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- Indiana's leading receiver Damarlo Belcher has been suspended for Saturday's game against Northwestern.

Belcher was disciplined for violating team rules. Coach Kevin Wilson made the announcement about 7 minutes before kickoff but did not specify what rule was violated.

Belcher has a team-high 25 receptions this seasons and needs three more to break James Hardy's school record. Hardy, a former NFL draft pick, had 191 catches in his career. Belcher has 189 receptions.

Cody Latimer, a true freshman, started in Belcher's place.
