Norfolk State defeats North Carolina A&T 14-10

WASHINGTON (AP) — Randy Maynes scored the only touchdown in the second half as Norfolk State rallied to beat North Carolina A&T 14-10 on Saturday.

Maynes scored on a 3-yard run with 7:12 to go in the third quarter to erase a 10-7 Aggies’ lead. North Carolina A&T had grabbed the lead at 10-7 on a 20-yard field goal by Jose Garcia-Camacho with 1:51 remaining before halftime. Joe Hawkins scored the other touchdown for Norfolk State.

Norfolk State (7-2, 5-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) has won seven of the past nine games in the series. The Spartans have held six opponents this season to 14 points or less.

The Aggies (4-4, 3-2) outgained Norfolk State in total yards 288 to 265, but were held to 120 yards offense in the second half. Lewis Kindle passed for 155 yards but was sacked seven times. The Aggies have lost two straight games.
