Washington State Patrol troopers were swamped Sunday afternoon, investigating an estimated 16 traffic crashes.
No serious injuries were reported.
“We were just going from wreck to wreck,” a state patrol dispatcher said at midafternoon.
The accidents started about 12:25 p.m. and lasted into Sunday evening.
An estimated 10 accidents were on Interstate 205.
There also were crashes on state Highway 500, Highway 502, Highway 14, and Interstate 5.
Weather could have been a contributing factor because an estimated .29 of an inch of rain was recorded Sunday at Vancouver’s Pearson Field.
