MOSES LAKE, Wash. (AP) — Trick-or-treaters can have their candy X-rayed Monday evening at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake to give parents piece of mind.
The Columbia Basin Herald reports (http://bit.ly/sG4Psk) the hospital has been offering the free service for 20 years. A spokeswoman, Connie Opheikens, says the most alarming thing the X-rays ever turned up was a couple of staples that apparently fell off something stapled to a piece of candy.
She says the experience exposes kids to the machine and shows them they’ll be OK if they have to have an X-ray, too.
