Letter: Representation appreciated

Thanks to U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, for sticking to her word not to raise taxes on the working class while supporting the elimination of tax loopholes that allow big corporations to avoid paying their fair share of taxes. With both parties responsible for the overspending that created this giant debt, Herrera Beutler continues to support a constitutional amendment that would require the government to not spend more than it brings in annually. She also submitted a bill called “Savings Start With Us” Act that would cut the pay of the president, vice president, and members of Congress by 10 percent.

These polarizing times call for strong leadership and Herrera Beutler’s commitment to reduce the deficit while protecting Social Security shows she plans to keep the promises she makes to her constituents. Herrera Beutler is the right person to represent Washington state’s 3rd Congressional District for years to come.
