Letter: More express buses mean fewer cars

I try to believe we have some of the best minds performing planning functions at C-Tran, but sadly that’s not the case. Express bus 157 is slated to be eliminated at the start of the New Year due to funding. This does not make sense; this bus is nearly full every work day morning when it leaves the 99th Street transit center at 7:30 a.m. and full when it returns in the evening. This bus runs to the Lloyd Center district carrying workers to the many companies in that area, and these brilliant minds at C-Tran want to eliminate this bus.

My wife takes this bus every working day, and her employer pays for her monthly pass. At first, she was the only employee at this company on the 157; now there are five people taking the 157 at her company. C-Tran wants to cut a full bus that is largely subsidized by companies whose employees have reliable transportation. Now all those people will help clog up I-5 in their cars very soon. What a stupid decision by C-Tran managers to cut a full bus.
