FSU’s Fisher playing down role as heavy favorite

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher claims he’s not as worried about upset-minded Louisiana-Monroe as he is about his own team heading into the season opener for both.

Fisher’s sixth-ranked Seminoles are a 29-point favorite in Saturday’s game and Fisher says that if the Seminoles play like they’ve practiced they should be all right.

Florida State returns most of its starters from a team that went 10-4 last season while the visiting Warhawks also have most of their key players returning from a 5-7 season in 2010.

Louisiana-Monroe would like love to pull off an upset similar to one they achieved four years ago when the Warhawks beat Alabama.

Fisher says he didn’t need to say anything to his players about that.
