UCLA’s Prince hurt in Houston game

HOUSTON (AP) — UCLA quarterback Kevin Prince left in the second quarter of Saturday’s game in Houston with an injury.

Prince was running along the sideline when he was upended by Cougars cornerback D.J. Hayden. Prince flipped over and fell in front of the Bruins’ bench.

Richard Brehaut, who started seven games last season, entered the game while trainers attended to Prince. UCLA officials did not immediately specify Prince’s injury, but he sat on the bench with his helmet off as the game continued.

Prince, who had season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right knee last October, won the starting job over Brehaut in August practices.
