KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have signed seventh-round draft choice Shane Bannon and seven others to their practice squad.

Bannon, a fullback who played at Yale, impressed the coaching staff during training camp with his athleticism and versatility. The only fullback who made the 53-man roster was Le’Ron McClain.

The other players signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad Sunday were linebacker Justin Cole, wide receiver Jeremy Horne, cornerback Quinten Lawrence, defensive lineman Anthony Toribio and offensive linemen Darryl Harris, Butch Lewis and David Mims.

The Chiefs only kept seven offensive linemen during cuts Saturday, so the three added to the practice squad could be called upon to help at some point this season.

All eight practice squad players participated in the Chiefs’ training camp.
