Gypsy Robin wins $100,000 Sorority at Monmouth

OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) — Gypsy Robin held off Say a Novena by a length Monday in the $100,000 Sorority Stakes at Monmouth Park.

Trained by co-owner Wesley Ward, Gypsy Robin ran 6 furlongs in 1:10 4-5. The Jeffrey Sanchez-ridden 2-year-old filly returned $7.60, $4 and $2.60.

Say a Novena paid $3.20 and $2.10. Select Cat finished another 5 1/2 lengths back and paid $2.40 to show.

In the co-featured $75,000 Omnibus Stakes, Hasay took the lead in the stretch and scored a length victory over Dyna Waltz. Trained by H. Graham Motion and ridden by Pablo Morales, Hasay covered 1 3-8 miles on the turf in 2:13 4/5 and paid $12.80, $5.60 and $4.20.

Dyna Waltz returned $4 and $3.40, while Tarrip was another nose back in third and paid $4.40 to show.
