BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — State wildlife agents have trapped a cougar that had been seen near homes in the Sudden Valley area of Whatcom County.

The Bellingham Herald reports (http://bit.ly/qraVSN) the cougar is year-and-a-half old female that had been lingering near the carcass of a deer it had killed.

Wildlife agent Dave Jones says the cougar was tranquilized and moved Monday to a remote part of eastern Whatcom County.
