What’s open and what’s closed for Labor Day:
o MAIL: Post offices are closed Monday. No home delivery except for Express Mail. The postal unit inside the Shell gas station at Fisher’s Landing, 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
o GARBAGE: Collection of trash and recyclables is on regular schedule in Vancouver and most of Clark County. Inside Camas city limits, Monday’s trash and recyclables will be picked up Tuesday.
o West Van Materials Recovery Center, 6601 N.W. Old Lower River Road, open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Central Transfer and Recycling Center, 1103 N.E. 117th Ave., closed Monday.
o PUBLIC SCHOOLS: No classes Monday.
o COLLEGES: No classes Monday at Clark College and Washington State University Vancouver.
o PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Camas Public Library and branches of Fort Vancouver Regional Library, including Vancouver Mall Community Library and bookmobiles, closed Monday.
o GOVERNMENT: City, county, state and federal offices closed Monday.
o BUSES: C-Tran and TriMet will follow Sunday schedules Monday. C-Tran’s administrative and passenger service offices will be closed, but its call center will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
o PARKING: Meters in downtown Vancouver are free Monday.
o DRIVER LICENSING: Department of Licensing offices closed Monday.
o VEHICLE LICENSING: Auto licensing offices closed Monday.
o VEHICLE EMISSIONS: Test stations closed Monday.
o LIQUOR STORES: Most state-operated stores open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday; some independently operated stores might also be open.
o BANKS: Most closed Monday; some branches in grocery stores might be open.
o FINANCIAL MARKETS: New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq and other markets closed Monday.
o ZOO: Oregon Zoo open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
o ANIMAL SHELTER: Humane Society for Southwest Washington closed Monday.
o CLARK COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM: Closed today and Monday.
o WESTFIELD VANCOUVER MALL: Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Department stores typically have slightly different hours.
o THE COLUMBIAN: Offices closed Monday. Circulation customer service lines, 360-694-2312, open 4:30 a.m. to noon Monday.
