CLEVELAND (AP) — Outfielder Trevor Crowe has been activated by the Cleveland Indians and will make his season debut.

The switch-hitting outfielder was listed ninth in Cleveland’s batting order, playing left field, for the final game of a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday.

Rookie outfielder Jerad Head was designated for assignment to clear room on the 40-man roster for Crowe, who had been on the disabled list all season.

Crowe had surgery on his right shoulder March 30 after missing all spring training workouts. He hit .263 with nine RBI in 11 games on a rehab assignment in the minors that began Aug. 20.
