The main trail at a popular Columbia River Gorge destination will close for half a day next week, recreation officials announced Tuesday.
The Multnomah Falls Trail at Multnomah Falls, Ore., will close from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The closure will allow staff to safely complete needed trail work.
During the closure, visitors won’t be able to use the trail that leads to Benson Bridge and completes the Multnomah Falls to Wahkeena Loop. The Multnomah Falls lodge and visitors center will both remain open while the trail is closed.
Multnomah Falls is located just off Interstate 84, about 30 miles east of Portland.
