Cascade Park — Julia Blair-McCullough of Hickory Creek, Texas, nearly died while visiting her daughter, Rachel Rolph, in Vancouver. After Blair-McCullough’s heart stopped, she passed out near the pool at her daughter’s apartment complex. Jay Abrahamsen and his daughter, Nicole, were able to resuscitate her using CPR. Paramedics arrived at the scene and took Blair-McCullough to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Now she’s doing fine. McCullough said they risked a lot for someone they didn’t even know. “Even if they did something wrong, they did everything right,” she said. She hopes the tale will inspire others to act as the Abrahamsens did.
