FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots have signed former Denver tight end Dan Gronkowski, the brother of current Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

New England has released defensive lineman Gerard Warren and cornerback Darius Butler.

The Patriots also claimed linebacker A.J. Edds off waivers from the Miami Dolphins.

The Patriots picked Rob Gronkowski in the second round of the 2010 draft. Dan Gronkowski was a seventh-round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2009 who played in 12 games for the Broncos last year.

A third brother, Chris, is a running back who was waived by Dallas this summer and claimed by Indianapolis.
