Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Explorers complete training

September 7, 2011

10:00 a.m.

Six Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Explorers have successfully completed the Law Enforcement Explorer Academy held August 15 – 19, 2011 in Yakima, WA. Rebecca Gonser, Ciara Griffee, Cheyanne Plank, Kendra Rowe, Jacob Adams, and Jordan Andersen attended classes in the one week academy that included basic field work, patrol procedures, drill and ceremony, and participated in practical mock scenes. “We are very proud of these young men and women of our community for this accomplishment” stated Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Bond. “The training they went through will give them a more thorough knowledge of the Law Enforcement profession and hopefully a career as well.”

The Explorers were accompanied by Sgt Arne Gonser and Deputy Steve Rasmussen, who were both Assistant Tactical Officers with the training staff for the week.

If there are any youth interested in joining the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Explorer program, please contact Deputies Steve Rasmussen or David Garcia at 509-427-9490.
