LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — A Cowlitz County Juvenile Court judge has ordered that five children who were taken from their adoptive parents in Longview will attend a private religious school.

The parents are facing trial on criminal mistreatment charges and wanted the children home-schooled by a relative.

The Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/o3OGtI) the children will attend the school at the Kelso-Longview Seventh Day Adventist Church, which they attended. The school offered to pay their tuition.

The children are barred from contact with their parents, Jeffrey and Rebecca Trebilcock, who are accused of starving them. The criminal trial is set for January.

The children were taken from their parents in March. A civil trial next March will determine if the state will take permanent custody.
