LAS VEGAS (AP) — UNLV football coach Bobby Hauck has been awarded a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Rebels through the 2014 season at his current annual salary of $350,000.

Hauck is in his second year with the Rebels, who went 2-11 last year and lost their season opener last week at No. 8 Wisconsin, 51-17. He will also earn a $450,000 completion bonus if he finishes next season under the terms of the current contract.

UNLV athletic director Jim Livengood said Thursday the school is thrilled to have the former Montana coach at the helm. He says he expects the contract extension to further stabilize the football program.

The Rebels play at Washington State on Saturday. They have lost 10 straight road games.
