ZURICH (AP) — World champion Yohan Blake ran a personal-best 9.82 seconds to win the 100 meters at the Weltklasse meet Thursday.
The Jamaican stumbled slightly out of the blocks and had no wind assistance on a still night. He beat his best time by 0.07 seconds. It was the fourth fastest 100 meters this year without wind.
Asafa Powell finished second in 9.95. He was nursing a hip injury that caused him to miss the world championships last week in South Korea.
Blake won the worlds in 9.92 after training partner Usain Bolt was disqualified for a false start.
