CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A federal judge has ordered an Oregon couple detained in connection with the carjacking and shooting of a man in southwestern Wyoming in August.

Federal Magistrate Scott Skavdahl on Thursday ordered Roy and Jessica Fritts of Union, Ore., held pending further proceedings. The judge found that they were likely to flee if released and would present a danger to the community.

Thirty-three-year-old Roy Fritts faces federal charges including carjacking and using a firearm during a violent crime. Jessica Fritts, age 35, is charged with aiding and abetting in those crimes.

The couple was arrested near Echo, Utah, in August following a car chase. Police say they were driving a van belonging to a California man found shot and wounded near Flaming Gorge Reservoir in Wyoming.
